Furniture Trends for 2022

While the decor trends and designs for 2021 were mind-blowing and amazing, the 2022 interior decor space will surely be a better experience. We can't wait to see the following decor trends predicted by top creators and designers in 2022. Read on to find out their predictions for 2022 in terms of styles, silhouettes, and materials.

Textured Surfaces

Crushed velvet boucle and tweeds were very common designs during the last quarter of 2021, which means we'll be seeing more of them in 2022. People are also beginning to embrace cozy and comfortable designs to meet their needs and preferences since many people now work from home. Boucle wool fabrics are much popular now due to their warm and relaxing nature.

Matte Metals

Matte finishes will be experiencing a high surge, and fixtures will be defined more in nickel, pewter, and stainless finishes with lesser or little shine.

Vintage Items

All year-round, we will be seeing more mix and match designs that lean towards agelessness. People now purchase items that can evolve with their home and reflect their personality, and vintage items provide just that. The days of mass production are gone, too and trending furniture pieces will now be matched with antiques that create a something old, something new kind of look into your home.

Curvaceous Lines

The use of curvaceous lines in furniture is a 2022 trend, and you should look forward to seeing more of it. There has been a rise in curved sideboards and rounded sofa backs, so furniture with curved lines will be trendy in 2022. In late 2021, many furniture manufacturers incorporated arcs, curves, and soft lines into all furniture designs, regardless of their price. So, even budget-friendly furniture will feature curved lines in 2022.

Personality and Sentimentality

The pandemic period has contributed greatly to how people design their homes. The rise in the decor style that shows an individual's personality is proof that this trend isn't going anywhere. People now decorate their homes according to their individual needs and preferences, and furnishings and materials with emotional significance are now being prioritized. The days of creating a staged room in a home design store are over. Homes are now designed to be unique and reflect a place of comfort and authenticity.

Quality Over Quantity

People are beginning to appreciate the value of highly durable, quality items that will last longer over the ones that are trendy but will not last long. So, artworks or furniture with excellent qualities will be very common in 2022.

Wellness-Conscious Decor

Today, an average person wants a home that is both aesthetically pleasing and visually appealing. So designs like copper or bronze with antimicrobial qualities will be trendy in 2022. Doors and cabinetry will be made of semitransparent or glass materials. Open grids and mesh will be introduced into furnishings, cabinetry, or even room dividers to help you see what's inside.
